What do you get when you combine a passion for serving people, a love for music, and a mind that can’t stop strategizing about how to connect audiences to great experiences? You get Mark Allen Patterson II.

Who is Mark Allen Patterson, and where did he come from?

Born in Hackensack, New Jersey to Mark and Shirley Patterson Sr., he was raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area from the age of 8. Patterson embodies a unique blend of grit and gentleman-like charm. This New Jersey native-turned-Georgian has captivated hearts with his old soul that fearlessly speaks its mind and curates timeless experiences.

Patterson began leading worship in the youth and young adult ministries at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, by age 16. In a year’s time, he became a worship leader for the principal praise and worship team of the church, shepherding thousands into worship Sunday after Sunday.

Mark was granted the esteemed pleasure of serving and co-laboring with celebrated leaders and gospel artists during his tenure. He credits much of his early influence to Bishop William Murphy III and Darwin Hobbs from his time as worship leader at New Birth and eventual travels as a worship leader with Pastor Benny Hinn.

Mark’s education and career in ministry and music

As a student at Lee University, Patterson joined the Voices of Lee ensemble. He and the group showcased their unique sound in the premiere season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off.” The group was so well received that America voted them into the top three groups of the competition.

The singer-songwriter went on to work as a background vocalist on numerous projects. Notably, he made contributions to Tasha Cobbs-Leonard’s acclaimed album “Heart. Passion. Pursuit.” and co-wrote the inspiring anthem “Power in Praise” on Darwin Hobbs’ Stellar Award-winning album, “Champion.”

Patterson’s call to ministry led him to serve in various churches across the United States. These ministries include New Beginnings Fellowship Church and Heartland Church in Indianapolis, IN, the dReam Center Church of Atlanta, Victory Church in Lakeland, FL, and Flatirons Community Church, headquartered in Lafayette, CO).

Driven by personal ambition and a desire to lead by example, Patterson retraced his steps to complete his Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies at Indiana University, an accomplishment he achieved just before the arrival of his precious daughter.

“I wanted to show her how important it is to make it to the finish line – even if it takes longer than expected,” Patterson explains.
